Looking for something to do with the family this weekend?

Try this on for size:

Wow, much water, such fountain

Hermann Park sits in the heart of the Houston Museum District, surrounded by the Houston Museum of Natural Science (HMNS), the Health Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, and the Houston Zoo. The purpose of this scavenger hunt is to discover some of the secret nooks and crannies inside this 445 acre park.

Audience: Families, Adults, Stroller Friendly, Dog Friendly

Price: Free!

Parking: This Scavenger Hunt starts at the Houston Museum of Natural Science (5555 Hermann Park Dr.) so you can either pay to park at the Museum or you can park in one of the overflow parking areas by the Zoo and walk back to HMNS. The most convenient way to get to the Park is to take the METRORail, get off at the Museum District Station and walk one block to HMNS.

Distance: 2.6 miles

Time to Complete: 1.5-2 hours, or longer depending on how long you’d like to stay at each location

What to Bring:

  • This scavenger hunt!

  • A pen/pencil

  • Smart phone

  • Walking shoes/comfy clothes

  • Sunscreen/bug spray

  • Money (if you want to stop for a snack or ride the train)

  • Stroller (if you have little ones)

  • Water

The perfect way to unwind after a long week

Important Note: This entire Scavenger Hunt takes place outside, make sure to check the weather before you head out. Also, I find that using Google or Apple maps is the best way to complete this Scavenger Hunt, or you can use the map provided below.

You'll forget that you're in the middle of the 4th largest city in the US
