Museum District Zone 2 is the most sundry out of the four museums districts. It is home to the many of the cultural centers in Houston such as: The Czech Center, The Asia Society, and The Houston Museum of African American Culture. It is also home to many of the free art centers in Houston like The Houston Center for Contemporary Craft and Lawndale Art Center. This scavenger hunt may be through a more run down part of town, but it highlights all the diversity and eccentricity that makes Houston such a great city.

Holocaust Museum Houston

This particular scavenger hunt is made up of anagrams. Figure out the anagram to find the next location to check out, then solve the clue to discover more about each location.

Audience: Families, Adults, Stroller Friendly

Price: Free!

Czech Center

Parking: The best place to start this hunt is at the intersection of Caroline and Binz St. There is usually street parking around the Holocaust Museum and the Asia Society. Asia Society also has a paid lot located directly across from the center. There is also usually ample street parking around the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft and the Lawndale Art Center. Many of these museums have their own free parking lots but they will tow if they notice that you leaving the property. I would not suggest parking in a free lot because you will be moving from location to location. The most hassle free way to deal with parking would be to take METRORail to the Museum District station and walk south, down Binz St. to the intersection of Caroline and Binz St.

Distance: 1.8 miles

Time to Complete: 1 hour to 1 ½ hours depending on how long you stay at each location.

Important Note: This entire Scavenger Hunt takes place outside, make sure to check the weather before you head out. Also, I find that using Google or Apple maps is the best way to complete this Scavenger Hunt, or you can use the map provided below. Please note that a majority of these museums are closed on Monday.

St. Paul's United Methodist

One More Thing: The Buffalo Soldiers Museum and Diverseworks are also included in Museum Zone 2, however, they are over a mile away from the main group of museums so they are not included in this scavenger hunt.
